Sociocracy 3.0, wolftune @ page: 11 of 37

Reminders on building new best-practice habits

Sociocracy 3.0 stuff

  • Drivers, describing driver statements: https://patterns.sociocracy30.org/describe-organizational-drivers.html
    • Current situation + effect + what’s needed + impact of doing it
    • forum discussion of our use: https://community.snowdrift.coop/t/sociocracy-3-0-drivers/1309

Use of GitLab kanban boards

  • Use the boards to pick your tasks, dragging or marking To Do and Doing appropriately
  • https://community.snowdrift.coop/t/using-the-kanban-boards-in-gitlab-plus-wolftune-check-in/1263

## New Project Forms
- NEXT STEP: (salt) go ahead and share LibeOffice draft with Kodi and/or other closer project contacts
- NEXT STEP (msiep): link to project page mockups for reference by whoever does outreach

## Project outreach
- NEXT STEP (salt): reply to msiep's email about LFNW project connections and get stuff captured

## LFNW + beta milestone prioritizing/scheduling
- <https://gitlab.com/groups/snowdrift/-/issues?milestone_title=LFNW+2019>
- NEXT STEP (smchel17): Delete or close the LFNW 2019 milestone

## Salt met author of unfinished book on patronage funding at Communications conference
- NEXT STEP (salt): follow up with conference contacts

Updated forum team area pinned posts

  • wanting a clear post that not only talks about meeting time but provides the whenisgood links to update our schedules
  • move / combine topics / posts so pinned stuff about schedule is all together
  • link to the public topic announcing meeting times
  • NEXT STEP (salt): adjust forum posts, pins etc.

New meeting time

  • NEXT STEP (salt): prompt everyone to update their availability given summer etc.

How-it-works page design stuff

  • mray and msiep made progress, some disagreements
  • wolftune: I think reconsidering the structure and purpose (perhaps 3 pages: public-goods / crowdmatching / budget ?) etc. would be the way to start, get structural agreement, then work out details
  • NEXT STEP (msiep): discuss and/or propose with/to mray about the overall needs and structure for this part of the site

OSU OSL progress

  • DNS is all done
  • diligence Q&A documented in our ops repo
  • incoming email now forwarding to team members’ personal emails
  • snowdrift mx server still exists, and it handles mail from Discourse still, also sending via our mx1 smtp still works
  • for OSU, we’re discussing sending-mail questions, we aren’t asking for IMAP / postfix / mailboxes, we just want SMTP
  • we need to send through an authenticated SMTP, either they run Snowdrift-specific SMTP or get us LDAP through OSU something like
  • NEXT STEP (wolftune): clarify our needs/position to Lance
  • haven’t clarified which next steps are priority, but we have them captured
  • iko also groomed all our ops issues, so that’s clearer too

Look at potential projects to reach out to

  • Is Akira on there? Salt added
  • we now recreated boards at https://gitlab.com/snowdrift/projects/-/boards
  • NEXT STEP (wolftune): add goverance issue(s) about updating projects-repo README
    • needs clear “how to add project” instructions
    • don’t tag without consensus process
